Cranberry Cosmopolitan
The TV series Sex and the City put this drink on the map, and it continues to be a hit - particularly at Christmas, thanks to its gorgeous ruby colour and cranberry garnish. At large parties, I always try to offer a special drink like this as an alternative to the ubiquitous wine and beer.
Ingredients
1 1/4 cups (300 ml) Grand Marnier
1 1/4 cups (300 ml) cranberry juice cocktail
1 1/4 cups (300 ml) fresh lime juice
4 cups (1 L) chilled champagne or sparkling wine
Directions
Stir together Grand Marnier and cranberry and lime juices. Cover and refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours, or for up to 6 hours. Just before serving, divide among 10 champagne flutes and top off with champagne.
Serve immediately.
Makes 10 drinks.
